Buying a baby’s pram for the first time – where to start?
Buying a baby pram for the first time is challenging for many new parents. After all, it is the place where your infant will spend most of their time discovering the world. Moreover, it’s not only your baby’s primary means of transport but also the space where they’ll often fall asleep. So, knowing what to look for when choosing the right one is essential.
Types of baby pram
Various names are used to describe many types of baby products on the market, and this is no different when it comes to baby carriages, which are often called prams, pushchairs, and strollers. And this is just the basic categorisation, as many more subcategories are available (e.g., travel or sports strollers).
So, what should the first baby pram be like? Usually, first-time parents choose a baby pram with a carrycot designed for infants who cannot yet sit up independently. Such models are characterised by a flat-lying surface that supports the proper development of the little one.
Later come pushchairs, which are suitable for children who can sit up unassisted. These models can have different seating positions, from almost flat to fully upright. Some types – such as the Upline collection in our online shop – come as 2-in-1 pushchairs that grow with your child!
There are also strollers on the market, which are sometimes confused with pushchairs because of their similar purpose. However, strollers are usually simpler and lighter – a good choice in urban locations.
Not just a baby’s pram – the power of accessories
When choosing a pram, you shouldn’t ignore the essential role of accessories. They can save the day on many family trips! Again, the task for new parents is a difficult one, as the list of different types of accessories is enormous. So what to consider : https://www.venicci.co.uk/category/accessories-parts/bags?
We have found out that the minimal list of accessories for a pram is, in fact, limited to a few products:
- Pram bags,
- Footmuffs,
- Rain covers.
As you can see, this definitely makes things easier, but there is nothing to stop you from adding a few more items to your list. Consider buying spare wheels for the pushchair and extra protection in the form of a parasol, gloves for the parents. You can find all these (and other products) in our shop!
And why are these three accessories – bags, footmuffs, and rain covers – at the core? The answer is simple – convenience and practicality.
The bags have space for everything you need to take care of your little one – from snacks to nappies and wipes. The raincover – as the name suggests – protects against rain, wind, and snow. And finally, the footmuff ensures that your child travels in comfort, as this extra protection will keep them warm on colder days or evenings.
